Daytrotter
I think I originally found out about Daytrotter through Marissa Nadler's blog. At any rate, the first session I downloaded from their site was the Marissa Nadler one. Daytrotter presents studio sessions from a wide range of musicians, and puts them up on the web for free download. Sure, they do ask you to support their advertisers, but there's no obligation to do so. It's sort of like John Peel's Peel Sessions, but instead of having to wait for the session to come out on vinyl, you can have it instantly (sure, if you lived in the U.K., presumably you could have recorded it off the radio, but that never applied to me).
I've downloaded a couple of hours of music already. Wheeee!
